What Is in Burn XT? Ingredients, Label Directions and the Panel

Quick answer

Burn XT lists five actives: acetyl L-carnitine 700 mg, green tea extract 450 mg, caffeine 270 mg, Capsimax 50 mg and BioPerine 5 mg per two-capsule serving. There is no proprietary blend. The capsule shell, silica and magnesium stearate make up the rest. One figure, the capsaicinoid share, is not printed.

Key facts

  • ›Five actives, each printed on its own line, per capsule and per two-capsule serving. No proprietary blend.
  • ›Other ingredients: hypromellose (the vegetable capsule shell), silica and magnesium stearate.
  • ›The green tea extract is standardised to 98% polyphenols, 45% EGCG and 75% catechins.
  • ›Research amounts run higher than the panel for two actives. A third, Capsimax, cannot be judged because its capsaicinoid share is not printed.
  • ›Bottle: 60 capsules. That is 60 servings at one capsule or 30 servings at two.
  • ›Two direction sets exist, one on the sales listing and one on the bottle. The bottle is the one to follow.

What is in a Burn XT capsule?

Start with the panel, because every other fact on this page comes from it. The panel prints two columns. One column is for a single capsule. The other is for the two-capsule serving that most marketing quotes.

The Burn XT Supplement Facts panel, as printed on the bottle.
Ingredient1 capsule2 capsules% Daily Value
Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCl350 mg700 mgNot established
Green tea leaf extract225 mg450 mgNot established
Caffeine anhydrous135 mg270 mgNot established
Capsimax cayenne pepper fruit extract25 mg50 mgNot established
BioPerine black pepper fruit extract2.5 mg5 mgNot established

Under the panel sits the other-ingredients line: hypromellose, silica and magnesium stearate. Hypromellose is the plant-based shell. Magnesium stearate is a flow agent that keeps powder from sticking to the machines, and silica sits beside it on the same line. Capsimax and BioPerine are licensed brand names, and both marks are printed on the panel.

“Daily Value: not established” appears on all five rows. No reference intake exists for these, so no percentage can be printed. It is a rule about labels and says nothing good or bad about the ingredient.

What does each Burn XT ingredient do?

One line each, in plain words. The research behind each one is small in effect, and none of it was done on this finished capsule.

  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCl, 700 mg. The body already makes carnitine. Its job is to carry fatty acids into the cell parts that use them for fuel. Trials on weight found small average changes, and the effect shrank in longer trials.
  • Green tea leaf extract, 450 mg. It concentrates the leaf’s catechins. Paired with caffeine, it raised 24-hour energy use by about 4% in one well-known 1999 study.
  • Caffeine anhydrous, 270 mg. This is the ingredient you will feel. It raises alertness within an hour. Anhydrous just means the water has been removed.
  • Capsimax cayenne pepper fruit extract, 50 mg. A branded, coated pepper extract. Pepper compounds raise energy use for a few hours after a dose.
  • BioPerine black pepper fruit extract, 5 mg. It is a helper. It slows some of the enzymes that clear other compounds, so they stay in the blood longer.

If you want the long version for the first three, read our posts on 270 mg of caffeine, acetyl L-carnitine at 700 mg and green tea extract and your liver. The pepper pair has its own post: what Capsimax and BioPerine are.

How do the Burn XT amounts compare with the research?

A label can list the right ingredients and still use smaller amounts than the studies did. This table sets the panel beside the typical research amounts. A gap does not prove that nothing happens. It is a reason not to borrow the trial result.

IngredientOn this panelTypical research amountVerdict
Acetyl L-carnitine700 mg1,500-3,000 mg a dayBelow. Roughly a quarter to a half.

The 200 mg of EGCG is not printed. It is arithmetic from the printed standardisation: 450 mg of extract at 45% EGCG. The same sum on 75% catechins gives about 340 mg.

What is not in Burn XT?

Absence is harder to prove than presence, so this list is read straight off the panel and the other-ingredients line.

  • No proprietary blend. Every active has its own amount.
  • No yohimbine, no synephrine and no DMAA. The only stimulant is caffeine.
  • No gelatin. The shell is hypromellose, so the capsule is plant-based.
  • No sugar, sweetener, sugar alcohol or flavouring.
  • No garcinia, raspberry ketone or forskolin.

The product is not a gummy, a powder or drops. It is a vegetable capsule.

What do the label directions say about dosage?

Two sets of directions exist, and they differ. The sales listing gives one line. The bottle’s back label gives a build-up. Where they differ, follow the label on the bottle.

The printed directions for Burn XT.
WhereWhat it says
Sales listingAdults 19 years and older take 2 capsules once daily with food.
Back label, first use1 capsule with a meal for a minimum of one week.
Back label, regular use1 capsule twice a day, each with a meal and a glass of water.
Back label, experienced use2 capsules twice a day, each with a meal and a glass of water.
Back label, ceilingNo more than 4 capsules in 24 hours.

The label adds three rules. Take it with food, keep it six hours away from sleep, and do not mix it with other caffeine. For a deeper read, see how to take Burn XT.

The back label also carries a 60-day use direction, paired with diet and exercise. That is a direction for use, not a promise of any result.

What does the Burn XT label leave out?

A panel is a list of what the maker says is inside. It does not prove it. Four gaps are worth knowing.

  • The capsaicinoid share. The Capsimax row gives 50 mg of extract but not how much of it is the active part. This is the one real omission on the panel.
  • The piperine percentage. It is not printed, so it cannot be treated as a label fact.
  • Where it was made and tested. A panel states composition only. A lot number links a bottle to a production run, but it is not a test result.
  • Third-party testing. No independent finished-product testing mark appears on the artwork.

No trial has been run on the finished capsule. The research named on this page covers the ingredients one at a time.

Frequently asked questions

What is in Burn XT?

Five actives: acetyl L-carnitine 700 mg, green tea extract 450 mg, caffeine anhydrous 270 mg, Capsimax cayenne extract 50 mg and BioPerine 5 mg per two-capsule serving. The shell is hypromellose, plus silica and magnesium stearate.

Is there a proprietary blend in Burn XT?

No. Each active has its own printed amount, in a column for one capsule and a column for two. A blend would hide individual amounts, and this panel does not.

How much caffeine is in the ingredients list?

135 mg per capsule and 270 mg per two-capsule serving. The FDA names 400 mg a day as its general figure for healthy adults. One serving takes up about two thirds of that.

How many Burn XT should I take a day?

Follow the bottle. The back label starts with 1 capsule with a meal for at least a week, and the ceiling is 4 capsules in 24 hours. The sales listing gives 2 capsules once a day with food.

Which Burn XT ingredient is the weakest on the panel?

By research amount, BioPerine at 5 mg and acetyl L-carnitine at 700 mg. Both sit under the amounts their research used. Capsimax cannot be judged at all, because its capsaicinoid share is not shown.

Does the Burn XT label show the capsaicinoid amount?

No. It shows 50 mg of Capsimax extract without the capsaicinoid share. The studies use capsaicinoid amounts, so the dose cannot be compared.

Our view

Our view is that this is a clearer label than most in its group. Every active has a number, and the green tea extract even prints its standardisation. That is rare, and it lets you do your own sums.

The same clear label also shows the weak spots. Two amounts are below their research, and the Capsimax share is missing. Read it the way you would read any label: find the serving size first, then the stimulant amount, then the gaps. For more on that habit, try reading a two-column panel.

Burn XT is a dietary supplement and it is not FDA approved. If you take medicine or have a health condition, show the caffeine and piperine figures to a pharmacist before you start.
