What is Burn XT in a few sentences?

Burn XT is a supplement for adults, sold as a thermogenic fat burner. Thermogenic means it is meant to raise the heat your body makes, and with it a little of the energy you burn. The product comes as a capsule you swallow with a meal.

The formula has five named actives. The biggest part of the effect you will notice comes from caffeine, at 270 mg in a two-capsule serving. The rest is acetyl L-carnitine, a green tea extract, a cayenne extract and a black pepper extract that helps other ingredients stay in the blood longer.

Is Burn XT a capsule, a tablet, a powder, gummies or drops?

A capsule, and only a capsule. The shell is hypromellose, which comes from plants. There is no powder, no tablet, no drops and no gummy version of Burn XT sold by this seller, so searches for Burn XT gummies or powder lead to other products.

That matters for two reasons. First, the amounts on this panel apply to the capsule alone. Second, a gummy or powder would be a different formula, with its own label and its own risks. Do not assume any facts here carry over to them.

A capsule has no taste, and the panel lists no flavour, sweetener or sugar. It is swallowed with water during a meal.

What is a thermogenic fat burner?

Thermogenesis just means making heat. Your body spends energy at rest, on digesting food and on movement. A thermogenic ingredient nudges the first of those up a little, for a few hours.

Four ingredient families have real trial data: caffeine, green tea catechins, capsaicinoids and carnitine. The effects are small, often a few percent of a day's energy use. A fat burner is a name for a product that bundles some of them.

So the term is marketing shorthand. It does not mean the product burns fat by itself. The best-measured result for this kind of mix was about 4 percent of 24-hour energy use (Dulloo and colleagues, 1999), which is roughly 88 calories on a 2,200 calorie day.

The front label also says clinically studied thermogenic fat burner. That phrase refers to research on the ingredients, one at a time. The finished capsule has never been trialled.

Is Burn XT an appetite suppressant?

The sales listing pitches it that way, as an appetite suppressant and an energy booster. The honest reading is that caffeine takes a small edge off appetite for a few hours, and capsaicinoids may add a little. Buyers most often describe the effect as an easier mid-afternoon, not hunger gone.

An appetite suppressant sold over the counter as a supplement is a very different thing from a prescription appetite medicine. Burn XT is a supplement. It is not a drug, and it should never replace advice from a doctor about weight or health.

What about Burn XT Black, Max or PM?

People search for these names often. The seller's paperwork describes one product, the capsule on the panel shown in our label breakdown. Nothing is published about a Black, Max or PM version, so we say nothing about them.

If you meet an offer for one of those names, ask what the panel shows, who the seller is and what the return policy is. A bottle with a different panel is a different product.

How are weight loss supplements regulated?

Lightly, compared with drugs. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements. It does not review them before sale, evaluate label claims or certify the contents. It registers facilities, sets manufacturing rules and acts after the fact if a product is unsafe (FDA questions and answers).
